A little preparation makes your first online lesson smoother and lets you spend the time learning, not troubleshooting.
Check your setup
Use a laptop or tablet on a stable surface, test your camera and microphone in Zoom beforehand, and plug in to power. A wired connection or a spot close to your router helps keep audio clear.
Frame yourself and your instrument
Your teacher needs to see your hands and posture. For piano, place the camera to the side at keyboard height; for guitar, oud or violin, sit far enough back that your whole instrument is in view.
Have your materials ready
Keep a pencil, a notebook and any sheet music within reach, and tune your instrument before the lesson starts.
Once you are set up, log in to your HarvArt account a few minutes early and join the lesson from your dashboard.
